Weekly Success Story: Nine-Year-Old Northampton Dancer Becomes National Champion!

We're absolutely thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement from right here in our community! Mila Cohen, just 9 years old, has been crowned the UK's under 10s Latin dance champion at the prestigious Dance Promoters Association closed national championship.

This remarkable young talent, who trains at Bespoke Ballroom here in Northampton, competed against dancers from across the country and came out on top - making her the youngest winner in her category! Not only did she claim the Latin title, but Mila also secured an impressive third place in the under 10s ballroom competition.

What makes this even more special? Mila has been training with her mother, world-renowned dancer and former Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rihanoff, since Kristina founded Bespoke Ballroom back in 2019. This victory follows Mila's success last year when she was named 'juvenile soloist of the year' at the Le Classique Industry Awards.

Kristina couldn't be prouder: "I'm extremely happy – not just because she's my daughter, but she's putting our hometown on the map. Mila worked extremely hard, we had a plan in place, and spent hours driving to dance lessons and working together as mum and daughter."

This is what community success looks like - local talent, dedication, hard work, and a fantastic local dance school nurturing the next generation of champions right here in Northampton!
