Weekly Success Story: Stefan Attrill: A Voice for Change and Inspiration

This week, we're celebrating an extraordinary achievement from one of our community members that truly embodies the spirit of making a difference. Stefan Attrill has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award (Not for Profit) at the prestigious National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2025.

Stefan's journey is one of remarkable dedication and personal courage. Through his own diagnosis, he has gained a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those with Autism and learning disabilities, and he has transformed this personal experience into a powerful force for positive change.

The award citation beautifully captures Stefan's impact: "Stefan is truly remarkable. His journey to raise awareness continues to gain momentum, fuelled by his personal understanding of the challenges faced by those with Autism and learning disabilities through his own diagnosis. He embodies inspiration and humility in equal measure."

Stefan's response to receiving this national recognition perfectly encapsulates his mission and vision:

"I am the voice for the voiceless. That I am different doesn't mean that one of us is wrong; it just means that there is a different kind of right. Collectively, change can occur if everyone listens and acts to improve their own lives and the lives of others as well."

What makes Stefan's achievement even more significant is the ripple effect it's creating. His national recognition is already stirring conversations among leaders in both public and private organisations about crucial workplace topics:

  • How to retain neurodivergent talent

  • How to inspire all individuals to reach their potential

  • How to make recruitment processes more inclusive and engaging

  • How to ensure neurodivergent people aren't excluded from making meaningful impacts on organisations
